How It Began

For over 25 years, Damon and Audra Albert have dedicated their lives to the development of programs that serve at-risk children. These efforts have impacted the lives of thousands of families and children across the globe. Some of the efforts included serving as a pastor in various churches, establishing food and clothing programs for less fortunate, targeting anti-gang and anti-drug projects, and training leaders around the globe in ministry.

Over the last two decades, the Alberts saw the benefit in reaching at-risk children in a secure environment and that's when Camp Ezri was established. The 501(c)(3) non-profit organization is an adventure wilderness program that gives at-risk children an opportunity to participate in hiking, camping, fishing, hunting, four-wheeling, and other means of exploring nature to build character and confidence.

The Future

In 2018, Camp Ezri acquired a large piece of land nestled in the mountains of West Virginia. This has allowed the organization to reach at-risk children year-round with a private camp facility. The facility not only lowers the overall costs of hosting camp experiences but allows room to expand on the already successful concept and program.

Over the course of just a few years, utilities were installed, trails were paved, an outbuilding was constructed, and small-scale camper lodging was set in place. This has allowed for small ministry opportunities but nothing close to the vision that Camp Ezri has for the future. The property has access to a river, seasonal waterfalls, wildlife, and endless adventure.

With the help of friends and like-hearted individuals, the ultimate goal is to convert the property into a commercial space where facilities can be better suited for hosting larger camps. With God's help and your support, we hope that one day Camp Ezri will reach its fullest potential.
